Microgreens are edible plants - herbs and vegetables - that are harvested at 1 to 3 inches. They can be grown from a WIDE variety of edibles: radish, kale, cabbage, celery, onion, mustard, dill, parsley, basil, chard . . . just to name a few! And they are grown and harvested very fast: often within a week to ten days! The flavors range from mild to intense and it is very fun to experiment with different ones!

Where did they come from? Well, about twenty or so years ago chefs in California started plating up fancy dishes with these little beauties. Then! In 2012 some folks at the University Maryland decided to study them and discovered the microgreens are 4 to 40 times more nutritious than their full grown version.

So! Delicious, healthy, fancy -- what ever floats your boat! Microgreens are a great addition to your family's diet. And where ever you are we bet you can find them locally grown!

Our microgreens are grown indoors using top quality gmo-free seeds, great organic potting soil (Happy Frog) and full spectrum LED lights (plus a little sunshine through the window.) Harmony Creek Urban Farm uses sustainable, natural and organic methods for growing food. No pesticides, no enhanced fertilizers (only compost and organic seaweed and kelp) and again, of course, no gmo seeds.
